In the Senior residence where I live, there is a writers group called “Wisdom Writers”. We meet every week, and are given a topic to write 2 or 3 pages about. We actually can write about anything we want. A few people started books.
I am amazed at the wisdom and beauty of the writings that we read out loud and share. There are the elders of every walk of life, every vocation and avocation. Sometimes I tear up at the experiences we have all had, we have gone through The Great Depression, World Wars, grandparents settling in the west, Red Cross volunteer at 18 in England during World War II, living in every corner of the world, living in rural America before electricity, and on and on. How enriching to hear the wisdom of these elders.
